1. Definition

The Permanent Secretary may grant a visitor permit to a non-citizen if the Permanent Secretary is satisfied that the non-citizen seeks to visit the Fiji Islands

  • as a tourist;
  • for sporting or other recreational activities;
  • for the purpose of visiting a relative, or a friend, who is a citizen of the Fiji Islands;
  • to attend a conference or meeting;
  • for the purpose of transiting the Fiji Islands; or was a member of a crew of a carrier.


2. Requirements

New visitors permit

  • Must hold a return ticket to the country of domicile
  • Must hold a visa/permits to any country that he or she may transit
  • Must hold a passport with validity not less than 6 months from date of departure
  • Must have sufficient funds to sustain his/her duration of stay

Extension of Visitors Permit

  • If applicant is residing with family and friends:
    • Application form
    • Certified copy of Passport (Bio data page)
    • Certified opy of current arrival stamp
    • Confirm return ticket
    • Local sponsor letter
    • Copy of sponsor valid ID/passport/permit
    • Bank statement
  • If applicant is residing at a local hotel:
    • Application form
    • Proof of payment/booking from the hotel
    • Request letter
    • Bank statement
    • Certified copy of passport
    • Certified copy of current arrival stamp
  • Medical treatment
    • Application form
    • Sponsor letter from the government
    • Certified copy of passport (Bio data page)
    • Certified copy of current arrival stamp
    • Transfer letter from Ministry of Health/Doctor
    • Confirm return ticket
  • Fishing agencies (crew/seamen)
    • Application form (Yellow Form)
    • Letter from the organisation
    • Certified copy of the passport (Bio data page)
    • Certified copy of the current arrival stamp
    • Application fee of $91.00
