The Ministry of Immigration (“Ministry”) is streamlining the administrative processing of relevant work permit applications, effective 1^st September 2026, as part of its ongoing efforts to improve the efficiency and responsiveness of immigration services.

Under the new arrangement, the five administrative requirements as listed below will be excluded from the standard documentation required for relevant work permit applications:

1. Tripartite Agreement.
2. Advertisement Requirement.
3. Training Plan.
4. Local Understudy Requirement; and
5. Application Received Analysis.

This administrative streamlining will allow the Ministry to focus on the statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to each application.

Importantly, this does not reduce or change Fiji’s immigration, security, or compliance requirements. All relevant applications will continue to be assessed in accordance with the Immigration legislations and applicable immigration policies and procedures.
