Photo from a Fiji Immigration Facebook post dated 23 SEPT 2026Fiji Immigration23 SEPT 2026People living along the Suva-Nausori corridor will now have easier access to Immigration services following the official opening of the new Nakasi Immigration Office in Cjs Building (level 1) The new office was opened by the Minister for Immigration, Hon. Viliame Naupoto, today, with the Minister stressing that the facility was not simply about opening another Government office, but about bringing immigration services closer to the people. “This occasion marks an important milestone, not only for the Ministry of Immigration, but more importantly for the people we serve.” He said the establishment of the Nakasi office reflected Government’s commitment to ensuring public services were delivered in an efficient, accessible and convenient manner. The office will provide key immigration services, including passport applications and citizenship services. While many citizenship services are now available online, passport applications still require applicants to appear in person for identity verification and the collection of biometric data. Minister Naupoto said Nakasi was selected because of its strategic location between Suva and Nausori and its development into a major commercial and service hub serving communities throughout the densely populated corridor. He also placed strong emphasis on the standard of service expected from officers working at the new facility. “Every individual who walks through these doors deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, courtesy, and professionalism,” he said. “Each customer comes to us with a need, and it is our responsibility to listen carefully, respond effectively, and provide the highest standard of service.” The Nakasi office is one of two new Immigration offices being commissioned during the current financial year, with the second office in Rakiraki nearing completion. The Ministry also plans to establish additional offices in Sigatoka on Viti Levu and Nabouwalu on Vanua Levu, as part of efforts to bring immigration services closer to communities across Fiji. Minister Naupoto said the opening represented the strengthening of the Ministry’s commitment to serving the people of Fiji and ensuring Fijians access immigration services closer to their communities.Photo from a Fiji Immigration Facebook post dated 21 SEPT 2026Fiji Immigration21 SEPT 2026IMMIGRATION OFFICERS CONCLUDE INDUCTION TRAINING, STRENGTHENING BORDER SECURITY The Ministry of Immigration successfully concluded its Immigration Officers’ Induction Training from 16–18 September 2026, equipping 20 newly appointed officers with a strong foundation for their careers in the Immigration Service. Opening the programme, Permanent Secretary for Immigration, Mr Aliki Salusalu, reminded officers that their appointment is more than a job — it is a responsibility to serve Fiji, protect our borders and uphold public trust. The three-day programme provided officers with a broad understanding of the Ministry’s mandate, key responsibilities, professional standards and the role of an Immigration Officer. Through practical discussions, case studies and scenario-based exercises, participants were encouraged to understand, learn, apply and reflect on their roles and responsibilities. Closing the programme, Mr. Salusalu encouraged the officers to make integrity, professionalism, accountability and service the foundation of their careers in the Immigration Service, reminding them to protect our borders, serve our people with professionalism, uphold the law, and earn the public’s trust through their actions every day. 🤝 The Ministry sincerely thanks IOM Fiji, the United States Embassy in Fiji, and the Ministry of Civil Service for their valued partnership and support in strengthening the capacity of our Immigration Service. 👏 Congratulations to our 20 new officers. Your journey starts here. Serve with pride. Serve with integrity. Serve Fiji. #ServingFiji #ImmigrationService #BuildingCapacity #StrongerBordersPhoto from a Fiji Immigration Facebook post dated 14 SEPT 2026Fiji Immigration14 SEPT 2026Renovated Immigration Referral Office Officially Opened at Lautoka Wharf The Permanent Secretary for Immigration, Mr Aliki Salusalu, officially opened the renovated Immigration Referral Office at Lautoka Wharf on Friday, 11 September 2026. After more than six years of being vacant due to its deteriorating condition, the facility was restored to its operational state and is now safe, secure, and fit for purpose. Opening the facility, Mr Salusalu said the project is about more than renovating an office. It is about investing in our people, strengthening frontline operations and improving the services we provide. Our Immigration officers are at the frontline of Fiji’s border management and operations. Providing them with the right facilities and working environment enables them to carry out their duties safely, professionally and effectively. The renovated facility strengthens our capacity to carry out critical immigration clearance and referral functions at the Lautoka Wharf and supports the Ministry’s commitment to securing our borders and delivering better services. The Ministry acknowledges and thanks all agencies and partners whose hard work and support helped bring this important project to completion. 👥 Investing in our people. 🛡️ Strengthening our borders. 🚀 Improving our services.🛂 #MinistryOfImmigration #Fiji #BorderManagement #Immigration #Lautoka
