Passport Collection Delay

The Fiji Immigration Department wishes to advise that Passport collection for applications lodged from 06.11.2023 will be delayed, due to technical issues.

Changes in the Visa Processing timeframe

Effective 1st February, 2023, Visa processing time will increase from three (3) consecutive days to fourteen (14) working days. This is to allow us to accomodate the increasing demand for Visas. Please ensure visa applications are lodged well before travel dates.

Cessation of Passport Stamping

2.1 With effect from 01/02/2023 passport will no longer need to be stamped for the following Permit categories: Work Permit Investor Permit Residence Permit 2.2 Please retain an e-copy/hardcopy of the final permit letter at all time.

Business Visitors Permit

From 1 August 2022, Business Visitors Permit will be granted for a period of 21 days. A Business Visitors Permit allows foreign nationals to undertake business, study, research, consultancy, or work related activities in Fiji for 21 days.

New Immigration Services Fees

Fiji Immigration Department wish to advise the general public of the new Immigration service fees, effective from 1st August 2023. The new fees will apply to applications paid on and after the 1st of August, 2023. Click here to refer to the new price.

Exemption by Descent Order 2023

Direct Descendants of a person who was considered a Citizen of Fiji on 10/10/1970 will also be eligible to apply for Exemption. This exemption will allow a non-Fiji citizen considered to be a direct descendent to enter, reside and work in Fiji without obtaining a permit.

Notice to Permit Holders

This is to advise that all foreign nationals who are currently stranded in the country due to COVID-19 should contact Fijian Immigration Office so that they could be properly guided to maintain their legal status. This applies to all categories of permit holders.

Immigration Online Services

As part of the Departments ongoing plan for Digital Transformation, customers can now lodge ‘Permit and Visa’ application online through the Fijian Immigration Department Website and make appointments online for lodgment of Passports.
